When his syndicate is accused of staging a covert strike, a young recruit must choose between loyalty and conscience, or watch the fragile peace between the Nine Syndicates shatter.

Zyleria, the throne that united the Syndicated World for a millenium. Few remember the height of the great kingdom, but none can forget the chaos of its collapse. In the Night of a Thousand Fires, Zyleria met its fate with the assasination of Crowned Commander Zylerius II.
The Nine Syndicates rose from these ashes, each finding their place in this new order. Amongst the three most powerful syndicates, peace is but a game. Syndicate Arales lies to the south, sprawling and wealthy. To the east lies Syndicate Varitron, a people worn by their climate and molded by hardship. And Syndicate Mormoff, far in the east, the largest of the nine.

As the largest of the Nine Syndicates, Syndicate Mormoff wields great influence in the Syndicated World. While Mormoff customs dictate that a male heir take precedence in assuming the throne, Crowned Leader Lucious Mormoff had plans to name his daughter, Cynthia, as his heiress. After mysteriously passing away shortly thereafter, his son Gedeon assumed the Throne of Mormoff and began a new era for the syndicate. Many believed he murdered his father after learning of his plans to name his twin sister to the throne.
Syndicate Arales is the wealthiest of the Nine Syndicates due to their precious metal reserves. During the reign of Crowned Leader Benson Arales, Syndicate Arales grew even more wealthy, but not without a cost. Leader Benson falsified a contract treaty and betrayed Leader Argais Varitron, causing Varitron petrolius industries to plummet into economic ruin for a time. Tensions run extremely high between Syndicates Varitron and Arales, as Leader Argais never fails to hold a grudge.
Syndicate Varitron is small but fierce. Their petrolius industry, which is a key component of Aerocopters and Aerojets, would have given them great wealth, were they not betrayed by Leader Benson of Syndicate Arales decades ago. Molded by the fall of Zyleria, Leader Argais Varitron is as stubborn and resilient as his people.
